KELLY J RATH, M.ARCH / OWNER & PRINCIPAL DESIGNER

Kelly Rath is Compose Design Co.  Kelly received a BA in Architecture and Masters of Architecture from the University of Minnesota - Minneapolis.  He spent a number of years cutting his teeth, gaining experience, and working at a break-neck pace on many notable large scale institutional projects with Wold Architects & Engineers in St. Paul.  In 2005, Kelly moved with his wife and three children to Austin, Texas to start his own business with the same work ethic now centered on creating a great experience for his own clients.

Fusing more than three decades in design, hands-on carpentry and construction experience and running his own design/build company, Kelly started Compose Design Co.  The firm is built on the idea that design should be accessible to everyone - beautiful and comfortable spaces are nice to experience on any scale.  He has found large multi-department companies can lose the voice and vision of the people they are designing for. Kelly is most proud of being known as a great listener and communicator, advocating tirelessly for his clients, and delivering on his clients’ timelines.

Kelly is also a life-long musician and a rabid live music fan; loves fitness and family camping trips.
